An absolute legend of bass, Stanley Clarke was one of the first to bring his instrument to the forefront. The co-founder of the mythic jazz-rock fusion band Return to Forever, this Philadelphia bassist has influenced an entire generation of bass players with his atypical, melodious, and expressive technique. Stanley Clarke has conceived of an uncountable number of projects, and has won four Grammy Awards. His Montreux concerts reflect him perfectly. Having come here a dozen times, he has played with Return to Forever and his faithful partner George Duke, but also with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter (1991), Al Di Meola, Jean-Luc Ponty and Monty Alexander (1994), and Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten (2009)...
