Created in 1978, the Association des Amis du Festival de Jazz de Montreux (AFJM) aims to provide support for the organizers in terms of local politics and regional economy, and provides financial support for educational activities, as well as all musical events related to the Festival.
The AFJM has been supporting the 1st prize of the Piano Competition for many years, and the 3rd prize of the Voice Competition of the Montreux Jazz Artist Foundation. Taking place during the two weeks of the Festival, the competitions aim to uncover young talents and guide budding artists as they burst onto the professional scene. They also give the opportunity to the finalists to take parti in the Montreux Jazz Academy. During this one-week residency, which takes place in the fall, participants are guided in their work by mentors and professionals of the music industry.
This year, the AFJM also supports a special project carried out as part of the celebrations in honor of the 50th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Indeed, the layout of the Vernex Park will undergo a makeover and the realization of this ambitious project was made possible thanks to an exceptional donation of the AFJM.
Beyond this financial contribution, the members of the AFJM are "Ambassadors" of the Festival and its activities, conveying their passion and enthusiasm. The Amis are the first vehicle of communication relaying the program and the exceptional moments happening daily at the Festival to their entourage.
Become a member of the AFJM and support the Festival and the stars of tomorrow!
