Growing up in Newham, East London, Alfa Mist began his musical journey as a grime and hip-hop producer.  This self-taught pianist and rapper soon found himself drawn to jazz, world music and film scores.  His music mixes melancholic jazz harmony, alternative hip-hop and soul.  He regularly collaborates with musicians such as Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei.
