Winner of the 2019 Montreux Jazz Talent Award in the solo category, Afra Kane is an Italian-Nigerian singer-songwriter, having lived in the UK for a long time and now in Switzerland. It was while listening to Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and Otis Redding that she developed a passion for music. Trained as a classical pianist, she composed her first songs at the age of 13, inspired by classical music, gospel, soul and jazz. Afra Kane opened for Jack Savoretti during his Italian tour.
