MJF Residency

MJF Residency Is the MJF Residency programme free?

Yes, all public events during the MJF Residency are free of charge and no registration is required. The doors of the Petit Palais open at 5.30pm every day from 16 to 19 October 2024. If you would like to support the MJAF’s projects, you can make a donation: Donations

MJF Residency Is there a cloakroom available?

There is no guarded cloakroom at the Petit Palais.

MJF Residency Is there an age limit for attending MJF Residency events?

For safety reasons, children under the age of 6 are not admitted to the Petit Palais. All persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult to gain access to the concert areas. The organisers accept no responsibility for any problems arising from a breach of this rule.

MJF Residency Will there be food at the Petit Palais?

Snacks will be available in the Petit Palais bars every day from 5.30pm when the doors open.

MJF Residency What are the MJF Residency timetables?

MJF Residency will take place from October 16 to 19, 2024.
Doors will open daily at 5.30 pm.

6 pm : Workshop
7.15 pm : Showcase
8 pm : First concert
9.15 : Second concert
From 22h : Jam Session

Wed 16 & Thu 17 : Jam Session ends at 01 am
Fri 18 : Jam Session ends at 03h am
Sat 19 : Jam Session ends at midnight, followed by the Closing Party until 4 pm.

All events are free of charge, and no registration is required.

MJF Residency How to get to the MJF Residency?

The most practical and environmentally-friendly way to get to Montreux during the Festival is by public transport:

By train: Montreux train station is a 7-minute walk from the Petit Palais.

By bus: the Montreux, Centre des Congrès bus stop is next to the entrance to the Petit Palais. It is served by lines 201, 290 and 291.

There is parking for bikes and two-wheelers nearby, on Avenue Claude-Nobs.

ACCESS

ACCESS Is the Festival site accessible for people in wheelchairs?

Yes. Optimal access to all our spaces for everyone is a priority goal for the Festival.

ACCESS How old do you have to be to access the venues?

For safety reasons, children under the age of 6 are not allowed in the concert areas. All persons under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to access the concert areas.

The organizers decline all liability for any injuries caused by failure to comply with this policy.

Access to the following locations is restricted to people over 18 years of age from 10pm: Ipanema, El Mundo, Pool Parties, Ibis, Lake House.

Access to Lisztomania is open to anyone over the age of 16.

ACCESS What objects are prohibited in the concert halls?

It is forbidden to bring the following objects into the concert halls: bulky luggage or backpacks, glass bottles or objects, cans, gourd bottles, mister spray, food, animals, cameras, audio recorders, umbrellas, seats of any kind, rollerblades, skateboards, pyrotechnic objects, weapons of any kind, throwing objects, tear gas, helmets, flagpoles, banners, placards and in general any object that is dangerous or that can be used as a projectile. A compulsory control is carried in the main hall of the building. If the owner of an unauthorized and/or dangerous object refuses to remove it, he/she will be refused access to the venue without refund of the ticket.

ACCESS Is filming or recording permitted during concerts?

It is forbidden to capture and/or record sounds and/or images of the concerts. This prohibition concerns both the live performances of the artists/groups and their broadcasts on the screens. Violation of this rule may result in the confiscation of equipment and immediate expulsion from the Festival without compensation.

ACCESS Can I access the scenes if the concert has already started?

We strongly advise our audience to arrive for the opening of the doors in order to guarantee a smooth entry into the room.

Entry is possible at all times, even after the start of the concert.

TICKETS

TICKETS What happens if a concert is canceled?

In case of cancellation of the Festival or of an entire evening, tickets and subscriptions will be refunded up to the price indicated on the ticket, package or subscription (excluding a flat fee of CHF 5.00 for each ticket or package, in accordance with the recommendations of the Swiss Music Promoters Association), and/or a counter-performance of equivalent value (such as a Montreux Jazz Insider subscription, a gift voucher or other) will be offered.

No, according to our sales conditions tickets cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded.

Lake Stage:
Category A: Seated, covered, easy access: bar and WC.
Category C: Standing
Category E: VIP East podium, standing area on a raised platform, excellent visibility of the stage, close proximity to the artists, easy access: fast lane, bar and WC.
Category W: VIP West podium, standing area on a raised platform with a plunging view of the stage, easy access: fast lane, bar and WC.
Category S: Seated Package – front rows and open bar for the duration of the concert, easy access: fast lane, bar and WC (more information on https://www.montreuxjazzfestival.com/en/festival/abonnements-packages/seated-package)

Casino Stage:
Category A: Seated
Category C: Standing
Category P: Podium, standing area on a raised platform, excellent visibility of the stage.

TICKETS RESALE If I can no longer attend the concert, can I resell my tickets?

If you are unable to attend, you can resell your tickets directly from your customer account up to 24 hours before the start of the concert. You will find more information here.

TICKETS RESALE How can I resell my tickets?

Tickets ordered on www.montreuxjazzfestival.com :
In your account, go to “View my tickets”, then to “My orders”. It is then possible to “Resell tickets” and select the number of tickets to put back on sale. Attention: you will not receive a confirmation when your tickets are repurchased.

Tickets ordered from ticketcorner.ch or through the Call Center:
they can only be resold under certain conditions on the fanSALE site; you can refer to the fansale.ch site.

Tickets purchased at points of sale:
it is not possible to resell your tickets purchased at a point of sale.

TICKETS RESALE Is it possible to exchange one ticket for another?

No. It is not possible to exchange one ticket for another. However, you can resell your ticket and buy another one afterwards.

TICKETS RESALE Is it possible to resell tickets a second time?

No. A ticket can be resold only once, by the initial buyer.

TICKETS RESALE Can I choose the resale price of my tickets?

No, the price of resold tickets is the same as the purchase price. However, resale fees will be deducted from the base price.

TICKETS RESALE In case of resale of my tickets, how is the money paid out?

When your tickets are resold, you will receive a credit on your customer account. This credit can be used in full or in part for the purchase of one or more tickets only. This credit has no expiry date.

TICKETS RESALE If I no longer want to resell my tickets, can I get them back?

As long as the tickets have not been bought back, it is possible to resume the resale. For this, simply click on the “Resume Resale” button and select the seat or seats to take back. If the button does not appear, it means that your tickets have been sold.

TICKETS RESALE If my tickets put up for resale were not bought, can I ask for a refund?

In accordance with our terms of sale, tickets are neither taken back, nor exchanged, nor refunded.

HEALTH & EMERGENCIES Should I use earplugs?

The Festival strives to comply with all applicable standards for the protection of hearing. However, the noise level can reach 100 decibels at certain locations and concerts. It is therefore recommended to use ear plugs. These ear plugs are available free of charge at the entrance to the concert areas. Please note that the cantonal authorities carry out checks on all concerts.

GIFT VOUCHERS

GIFT VOUCHERS How long are gift vouchers valid?

Gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.

GIFT VOUCHERS What happens if I don’t use the full amount of my gift voucher on an order?

A new voucher is generated, with the balance of the initial amount. This is sent to the purchaser’s address at the same time as the purchased ticket(s).

SUSTAINABILITY

SUSTAINABILITY What are the Festival’s sustainability initiatives?

Reducing its ecological footprint is a priority for the Montreux Jazz Festival. The electricity consumed is 100% Swiss and renewable, coming from hydraulic energy. Several measures have been taken to encourage the use of public transport. Around 80% of the Festival’s infrastructure is reused and transformed from year to year. The Festival also ensures that waste is managed and recycled in the best possible way, using an entirely Swiss process. For more information, click here.
