Lord Funk

Breaking, originally known as breakdance, is an acrobatic street dance often performed in duels (battles). Originally, the movement brought together graffiti artists, DJs, MCs and breakers who, at these parties, waited for the musical bridge – the break – to dance. The bboys and bgirls quickly developed their dance, innovating and establishing a discipline with unspoken but clearly defined codes: breakdance, which is of course inseparable from the music. Lord Funk In the vibrant panorama of world music, one figure stands out for his influence and originality: Lord Funk. Now based in Paris, this emblematic DJ has been the supplier and seller of official records and samples for the biggest electro and hip-hop producers, both American and international. From behind the counter of a legendary record shop in New York, Frenchman Romain Dalmasso, aka Lord Funk, has introduced some of the biggest names in American hip-hop to the forgotten nuggets of French pop.
