Their story never gets old. At the end of the 1990s guitarists Rodrigo and Gabriela decided to leave their metal band and their native Mexico. In a radical shift, the duo embarked on an acoustic road trip round Europe. A few arpeggios later, they could be found performing at festivals all over the world, and even at the White House playing in front of Barack Obama. In 2020, the duo received their first Grammy Award for Mettavolution, an album that ends with a true tour de force, in which Rodrigo and Gabriela revisit the Pink Floyd masterpiece “Echoes” with the help of their trusty acoustic guitars and a crazy dose of inventiveness. This is precisely the recipe that has changed their lives and those of thousands of fans across the world.
