Digitized within the framework of a partnership between the EPFL and the Claude Nobs Foundation, the audiovisual archives of the Montreux Jazz Festival are a treasure trove to be exploited, particularly in the field of music. How can they be used in teaching? What do the context of the concert and the filmed image bring to musical analysis? And what are the potential uses of this collection? These are, among others, the questions that guided the research work presented, with the example of Miles Davis’ concerts. The audience will be invited to participate in a live analysis exercise via an online survey platform.
