If the cat has nine lives, the Iguana is immortal. A punk pioneer, wild and fierce, Iggy Pop started out as the singer with the Stooges. It was a period of pure recklessness, resulting in a triptych of crude, nasty albums.  After a few dark years came the Berlin renaissance, courtesy of David Bowie. In 1977, along with his saviour, Iggy produced a double masterpiece, The Idiot and Lust for Life. “When Iggy gets going, there’s no one like him! It’s verbal jazz,” said Bowie. Today, the man from Michigan still surrounds himself with the best. Six years after his collaboration with Josh Homme on Post Pop Depression, Iggy Pop summoned the members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction and Foo Fighters for his latest album, Every Loser.  Back in Montreux, five years after an anthology concert, the Iguana has not yet had his last word.
