Takuya Kuroda
A highly respected trumpeter born in Kobe, Japan, Takuya is an avant-garde musician who has developed a unique hybrid sound, blending jazz soul, funk, post-bop, fusion and hip hop music. It was in New York that Takuya met singer José James, with whom he worked on the “Blackmagic” and “No Beginning No End” projects. After graduating, Takuya established himself on the New York jazz scene, performing with bands such as Akoya Afrobeat and, in recent years, DJ Premier’s BADDER (which also features renowned bassist Brady Watt). Takuya Kuroda is already incredibly prolific: he has released five albums in the last decade and has built up a solid reputation on the international jazz scene.
