About Pat Metheny and Marcus Miller
Born into a musical family, Pat Metheny began working with the best jazz musicians in Kansas City at the age of 15. At the age of 19, he became a professor at the renowned Berklee College of Musicand entered the international jazz scene a year later, quickly establishing himself as one of the world’s top guitarists. To date, Pat Metheny has won 20 Grammy Awards, making him the 15th most awarded artist in history. A collaborator of David Bowie, Herbie Hancock and Steve Reich, the guitarist was also a forerunner in the development of electronic music. Instantly recognisable, his playing blends supple and flexible articulations with a rhythmic and harmonic sensitivity of unequalled richness.
The composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist Marcus Miller is one of the most influential musicians of his era. Since the mid-1970s, the bassist has played on more than 500 albums and collaborated with Aretha Franklin, George Benson and Al Jarreau, not forgetting Miles Davis, for whom he wrote and produced Tutu in 1986. Now focused on his solo career, the slap master has released over a dozen albums and composed around 20 film soundtracks.
