Seeing Vulfpeck in Montreux is an event. Rarely seen,on tour in Europe, the undisputed masters of groove will be performing in Switzerland for the very first time. Since they were founded in Michigan in 2011, Vulfpeck has generated a huge buzz among funk and jazz fans. Fiercely independent, the group has forged a sonic and aesthetic identity that displays their musical virtuosity and offbeat humour, as seen on their homemade videos. Rather than stringing solos together, the band focus on building irresistible grooves that give each instrument its due. The track ‘Dean Town’, which has become a 21st century funk bass standard, is a perfect example. In 2019, Vulfpeck became one of the first independent bands to sell out Madison Square Garden. The internet-born phenomenon is now primed for the big stages, where their joy of playing is most infectious.
