Berlin-based Musician/DJ Curses is known for blending 80’s New Wave, the darker side of Italo-Disco and flashes of Post-punk with live ghostly vocals over DJ sets, bringing a cinematic energy to the club.
Recognised for his dark, romantic style, Curses’ intuition and experience allows him to adapt to different environments whilst maintaining an authentic storytelling within various underground genres. From heavy hitting E.B.M and Dark Wave to the uplifting nostalgia of Italo and Proto-House, his knowledge and flexibility keeps the dancefloor moving.
With 2 albums released on Dischi Autunno and an LP with fashion house Saint Laurent, the new album drops 2024 with the legendary Synth-wave label, Italians Do It Better. Curses has brought his unique sound to iconic venues such at DC-10 and festivals like Nuits Sonores, as well his residency at Berlin’s infamous Pornceptual party alongside his monthly radio show on RinseFM France.
Curses has also released on labels such as Running Back, Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi, Oráculo Records, whilst running his own imprint, Ombra International.
He is responsible for curating the acclaimed vinyl compilation series and party, Next Wave Acid Punx, showcasing a passion for New Beat, Early E.B.M, Post-punk and obscure Italo, which continues to gain a passionate cult following worldwide. Curses continues to bring a romantic and punk energy to the club, threading the ethereal nostalgia of the 80s and 90s into the future of now.
