The Norwegian synth-pop trio, a cult phenomenon in the eighties, will perform at the Festival for the very first time. Released in 1984, their timeless hit “Take on Me” has recently entered the very exclusive club of videos exceeding one billion views on YouTube. Only five songs in the 20th century have achieved this feat. The unchanging trio (Morten Harket on vocals, Pål Waaktaar-Savoy on guitar and Magne Furuholmen on keyboards) continue to chart their course and are set to release their eleventh album this autumn. Both an ode to nature and an environmental wake-up call, True North will blend film and music in an idyllic setting above the Arctic Circle. It’s like a return to their roots for these three Norwegians who have conquered the entire planet.
