Björk returns to Montreux 24 years after her first visit: this is massive news. Through Post (1995) and Homogenic (1997), the Icelandic performer has forged significant new paths in pop music, exerting a lasting influence on electronic music, including the more underground scene. Moreover, the Reykjavik native embarked on a staggering process of experimentation in the 2000s, achieved by way of conceptual challenges, technology and primitivism that has shaken up the avant-garde. She relentlessly continues her demanding pursuit of the cutting edge, constructing novel melodic structures that underpin atypical visual creations. Three years after the release of Utopia (2017), she returns to the Festival, this time accompanied by a symphony orchestra.
