Book: Abrax et le Prophète silencieux, by & presented by Olivier Meylan

Abrax et le prophète silencieux is a compendium, a mixtape, recounting in 25 songs the story of a youth lingering in an out-of-touch era that vanished too quickly: the era of self-managed cultural associations, flashy alternative clubs and penniless festivals, cobbled together with carefree ingenuity.
Through the scattered memories resurfacing from the adolescence of a night owl who was both active and contemplative, an entrepreneur and a philosopher, with the extravagance to take partying seriously, a tale for grown-ups takes shape, as if by magic, through the absolutely true portrait of a young man at the end of the 20th century. Join him on a true rock epic, a surprising spiritual quest and, finally, a magnificent love story dedicated to life in music.
Since he was a teenager, Olivier Meylan has led an entrepreneurial and cultural life. While studying at university at the Faculty of Arts in Lausanne, Switzerland, he and his friends developed a quirky and engaging alternative club, as well as a festival of contemporary music with a reputation far and wide. These early musical adventures form the backdrop to his first novel, Abrax et le prophète silencieux.
