Iya Ko

IYA KO is an artist from Lausanne with Swiss, Ivorian and French origins. Immersed in the music of the spirit since childhood, IYA KO produces, writes, and sings the sound of an eclectic youth, sensitive to the poetry of the heart as much as to the crossing of electronic and acoustic grains.
With a striking voice, he mixes Soul, Disco, House, and Afro influences with elegance and panache.
After releasing the afro-house banger “Yallah” on the mineral records IDEAL RULES house compilation, a first EP with the band The Guilty Pleasures and live performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival, he is back in 2023 with a second project with an evocative name: Electric Groove
& Nighttime Romance.

Assila Coulibaly

Assila Coulibaly, Assila is a singer, songwriter and visual artist. Born on the Côte d’Azur to a British mother and an Ivorian father, she studied stage arts in London before moving to Barcelona in 2017 where she started her singing career in a bar/cabaret. In 2018, she moved to Paris, where
she studied theatre and started producing music. In 2022, she performed at the Cicada as the opening act for Curtis Harding before moving to Los Angeles to record her first album, which is currently being finalized.

David “Wave” Pavlik

David “Wave” Pavlik is a 25-year-old bass player and producer of Czech origin born in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is an active player in the culture of his hometown, where he has been organising festivals, concerts, jams, exhibitions and markets for several years. But it is in music that he
dedicates most of his time. Since 2012, he has been touring in various bands in the region, including co-founding Chic Astral and Iya Ko & The Guilty Pleasures. It is within these collectives that he performs at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2022 and hosts the Autumn of Music jams of the
Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation. He likes to infuse all the musical styles that the musicians participating in the jams that Chic Astral organizes bring, but tends more towards funk, soul, jazz, afro and jazz.

Théo “Starocaster” Starobinski

Théo ”Starocaster” Starobinski is a guitarist from Lausanne of Polish origin with a varied sound. He studied guitar at the ABπ foundation for ten years before playing in several bands in Lausanne. It is within the association ”le Chic Astral” that he combines the various musical influences
that have rocked him since childhood. From the slamming sounds of funk to the heavy riffs of rock, passing through jazz and swing accents, he will make your hands clash and make you sing disco classics or French repertoire.

Dylan “Felix Tasty Shred” Ifergan

Dylan “Félix TastyShred” is a keyboardist with a rhythmic and generous style of playing that is strongly based on self-training. After a few years of classical piano studies at the Conservatoire populaire de musique, it is improvisation, in all its forms, that will constitute the essence of his
approach to music. Originally from Geneva, Félix moved to Lausanne in 2015 to study physics at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne. It is in this city that he will meet the other members of Chic Astral. His musical phrases express a mixture of colours tinged with jazz, funk or song
and flirt with joy in the neighbourhoods of his guilty pleasures. We will leave it to the listener to judge the different components of this subtle balance.

Victor “Vicky Sins” Despland

Victor “Vicky Sins” Despland is a drummer and producer from Lausanne, Switzerland. He has a versatile and creative style, drawing his influences from various styles such as Jazz, Hip-hop and House. Originally from the canton of Vaud, he studied at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, where he honed his skills as a jazz drummer, arranger and composer. Mixing fiery grooves and bold improvisations, Vicky Sins brings incredible energy to every performance.
