Dj Matafesta, of Cape Verdean origin, was born on 3 May 1995. Lulled by music from an early age, he has always been drawn to the music scene, and became particularly interested in it in 2011, when he was introduced to deejaying by the man who was to become his mentor, Dj S.Conta. He would go on to work for the RM Family label until 2024.

His sets, an explosive mix of Afro House, Afro Tech, Amapiano and Afrobeat, transmit a contagious energy that has crossed borders. His talent has conquered dancefloors of all kinds, setting parties alight in France, rocking clubs in Luxembourg, bewitching the islands of Cape Verde and electrifying nights in Portugal.

DJ Matafesta isn’t just a name on a bill; he’s the musical accomplice of many French- and Portuguese-speaking artists, accompanying them in their shows and contributing to their success. His role doesn’t stop there, as he is also the official DJ for Tayron Kwidan’s and Kokeïne JTD, adding a touch of magic to each of their performances.

His undeniable talent has led him to perform at festivals such as Afro Fusion Festival, Zimix Festival and LAFF FESTIVAL, where he has demonstrated his ability to create an electric atmosphere and ignite the most demanding audiences.

Today, having become a key figure on the French-speaking Swiss scene before conquering international audiences, he is one of the initiators of the ‘afro’ movement, or ‘afro-house’ in Swiss.
