Open Piano for Refugees

Open Piano for Refugees is a non-profit organization and places freely accessible grand pianos in public spaces: everyone is welcome to play, everyone is welcome to listen! With the help of music, we create spaces for interaction and communication that have very low barriers to get in touch with fellow human beings. The music serves as a universal language and space in which everyone can participate and is included. This is how we create more understanding, love and community among everyone. At our open piano, we also collect donations for our social music school “DoReMi”. We currently teach 180 students (mostly refugees and/or with low income) in 12 different musical subjects. All of our students pay as much as they can/want. We want to make sure that every person can get access to musical education.
