SERPENT
They advance with low noise, underhand and threatening like this uncertain time. The bites, multiple, will be only more terrible. That of the guitars which methodically shear the space, that of a rhythmic which cuts to the quick, and this convulsive, bellicose voice, which will release the piece only once overcome.
Post-punk, post-funk and post-modern, SERPENT also shreds the labels, and this first EP without summation has a manifesto name: “Time for a rethink”. Reset, some of these five assailants were in search of a primitive drive, as we say of the brain when it only works on instinct. The speed, the intensity, a certain form of insouciance, guide them in this sonic jungle somewhere between Gang Of Four, A Certain Ratio, Devo or the Public Image Limited.
