The 55th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival starts tonight, 2nd July, and runs until the 17th. The performances of Woodkid on the Lake Stage and Raul Midón at the Petit Théâtre will launch this unique edition. Various concerts will be live streamed on the Qello Concerts platform by Stingray.
Finally, the big day has arrived. This liberating moment that the entire Festival team has been anticipating for exactly 720 days is here at last: the artists and their audiences will come together at Montreux from tonight! After two years of dashed hopes and disappointments, emotions will be running high when the opening notes of Annie Taylor’s and Woodkid’s concerts resound across the lake. Designed a few months ago in the throes of uncertainty and then built in just a few weeks, the Lake Stage will have a seated capacity of 520 each evening in a brand new and breathtaking environment.
Emotions will be just as high at the Petit Théâtre, the iconic stage of the event’s informal slogan: ‘Small is Beautiful’. By way of opening, the soulful voices of Charlotte Grace and Raul Midón will captivate each of the 200 privileged souls present in the sumptuous setting of the Montreux Palace.
