Workshop by MJAF: Montreux Ville Créative: Pink Floyd, with Nick Mason
Montreux is known far and wide for its two historic festivals: the venerable Septembre musical and the surprising Montreux Jazz Festival.
However, in the 70s, Montreux was not only known musically thanks to these two Festivals, as the Tourist Office organised concerts throughout the year and encouraged relations between musical styles and audiences.
In 1971, a crucial year, the respectable classical festival Septembre musical, programmed Pink Floyd for a programme with a string orchestra and choirs from London for a daring creation Atom Heart.
This is the story that Nick Mason has come to tell.
